      EVENT DETAILS
      2019 Capstone Leaders Forum

You are cordially invited to the Capstone Leaders Forum in Denver, May 15th-17th. This is an exclusive experience for our top corporate, enterprise and foundation partners, to connect with NLC’s Executive Committee, Advocacy Committee Chairs, VIPs and thought leaders, as well as NLC staff and local leaders. The forum is designed to promote cross-sector dialogue on the issues and trends driving change in America’s cities. This year, we have chosen the topic of “Legacy Cities”. Cities in America with historically strong manufacturing cores have endured wrenching economic transitions over the past several decades. These so-called “Legacy Cities” are predominantly located in the Northeast and the Midwest. They include very large cities like Pittsburgh and Detroit, and smaller communities like Utica, New York, and Gary, Indiana. Many of these cities have struggled to grow jobs in new sectors and to boost employment and income, particularly for their communities of color. We will look at the various responses to the unique needs of these cities and at the role public and private industries can play in their revival.  Travel & Accommodations: Registration for the Capstone Leaders Forum is free and includes forum meals and two nights at The Crawford Hotel. Please note that unlike in years past, we will be staying in a different hotel than where our programming will happen.  Extended stays beyond the initial two nights will be charged directly to you. The National League of Cities will book hotel accommodations on your behalf. Please provide your arrival and depart dates during the registration process. Participants are responsible for their own air and ground travel.
